Media Ridge vs Foreplay
Foreplay is built around saving and researching ads, with briefs and creative analytics on top. Media Ridge starts from your own results, explains them, and builds the next round.
Foreplay vs Media Ridge, in short
Foreplay is a creative workflow tool for saving, researching and briefing ads. Its strength is inspiration: a very large ad library, competitor tracking that archives ads indefinitely, and briefs built from what you save. Its Lens product adds analytics on your own Meta and TikTok ads, with white-labelled reports.
Media Ridge starts from the other end. A creative study begins with your own results and explains why some ads worked, sets them against what competitors are running, and turns that into briefs. Then Media Ridge’s designers build the new creative, and the study measures what the refresh changed.

Your strategists brief from inspiration
If your process starts with references rather than your own data, Foreplay’s briefs and storyboards fit it closely.
Where teams outgrow Foreplay
Inspiration tells you what others are doing. It does not tell you why your own ads worked, or whether the next round did better. Media Ridge is built around your results first, then the brief, the build and the measure.
See Creative StudiesCommon questions
Can I use Foreplay and Media Ridge together?
Yes. Some teams keep a swipe file for inspiration and use Media Ridge to analyse their own results, brief from the evidence and build the next round.
Does Media Ridge track competitor ads?
Yes. A creative study includes a read of the competitor ads in the Meta Ad Library: their messages, formats and positioning, and the ones you are not using yet.
What is a creative study?
A creative study is a deep analysis of your video and static ads that explains why some worked better than others, sets them against what competitors are running, and turns the findings into briefs. Media Ridge then builds the new creative and compares results before and after the refresh.
Is my campaign data safe with Media Ridge?
Your campaign data is never used to train AI models. Primary campaign data is stored in the EU (Ireland), and named sub-processors operate in both the EU and the US under appropriate data-transfer safeguards. Everything is encrypted in transit and at rest.
