One Campaign Manager, Five Platforms: How to Stop Stitching Reports by Hand

It is Thursday afternoon and one of your traders has seven browser tabs open. The Trade Desk in one, Meta in another, Amazon Ads, DV360, a CSV from a programmatic partner, and two spreadsheets holding it all together with VLOOKUPs and hope. The client wants an update by end of play. The numbers do not quite tie out. Sound familiar?

This is the quiet tax on ad teams. Not the media buying, not the strategy, but the hours lost pulling five platforms into one place by hand, every week, for every client.

The real cost of the export-and-merge grind

Manual reporting is not just slow. It is fragile.

Every platform names its metrics differently. Meta calls it reach, DV360 calls it unique reach, Amazon has its own logic entirely. Currencies, date ranges and attribution windows rarely line up out of the box. So your trader is not just copying numbers, they are reconciling definitions before the report even starts to make sense.

Then there is version control. Someone updates the wrong tab. A filter gets left on. A quartile figure from The Trade Desk gets pasted into the wrong row. By the time the deck reaches the client, nobody is fully confident the totals are right, and that doubt is the most expensive part.

Work out the maths for a moment. If a trader spends six hours a week stitching reports across a handful of accounts, that is the best part of a full day gone. Multiply across the team and you are funding a phantom reporting department.

Why five platforms should still be one view

The answer is not another spreadsheet template. It is unifying the data underneath, so five sources behave like one.

That means pulling directly from The Trade Desk, Meta, Amazon and DV360 through their APIs, then mapping the metrics to a common language automatically.

Once the data is unified, the manual reconciliation disappears. Your campaign manager is no longer deciding how to align Amazon's reporting with DV360's. That decision has already been made, once, and applied everywhere.

The knock-on effect is what matters. When the data is trustworthy and current, you can look at cross-platform performance in-flight, not three weeks after the campaign ended. You spot the channel that is over-delivering and the one that is lagging while there is still budget left to move. That is the difference between a PCA that explains what happened and an optimisation that changes it.

What changes when the stitching stops

The obvious win is time back. But the deeper win is what your team does with that time.

A trader who is not merging CSVs is analysing. They are writing the insight that clients actually pay for: why performance moved, what to do next, where the next pound works hardest. That is the work that keeps clients on the roster. Reporting quality also stops depending on who happens to be building the deck.

A practical way to start

You do not need to rip everything out at once. Pick your two or three most report-heavy accounts, the ones eating the most manual hours, and unify those first. Get the metric mapping right once, then let it run. The time saved on those accounts usually makes the case for the rest.

Keep your agency's own templates and insight frameworks. The point is not to replace how you tell the story, it is to stop rebuilding the raw data by hand before you can tell it at all.

Where Media Ridge fits

Media Ridge connects The Trade Desk, Meta, Amazon, DV360 and more into a single consolidated view, maps the metrics for you, and surfaces automated insight so your team can spend time analysing rather than stitching. In-flight or post-campaign, the numbers tie out and the reporting builds itself.

If your traders are still living in seven tabs on a Thursday, it is worth seeing the alternative. Take a look at what the platform does on our features page, or book a demo and bring your messiest account. We will show you what it looks like unified.
